Proverbs 16:
24. Pleasant words are like a honeycomb,
sweetness to the soul and health to the bones.

When we first read these words from the book of Proverbs, we tend to think that the pleasant words that bring us health in soul and body, are words that are spoken by others to us.

However, today I want to challenge YOU to be the speaker of these pleasant words.

You need to speak them first to yourself and then to those with whom you come in contact.

If you're asking what pleasant words you can speak to yourself, may I suggest the old-fashioned concept of counting your blessings. That's most effective when you sit with your pen and paper and make a list of 5 things that are good in your life.

Then loudly enough for yourself to hear, you thank God for these things one by one.

By the time you've done that, your words would have begun to bring you health in soul and body.

After that, you simply speak to everyone you come in contact with in the same way - even those who seem to be against you!

Father, I set myself today to be thankful to you for all the good things and good people in my life,
in Jesus' name,
Amen.
