Cancellation Policy

 At Finding Me Counselling & Consulting our counsellors are self-employed. We ask for 48 hours’ notice when an individual, couple, or family needs to cancel an appointment. This typically allows us enough time to offer the spot to another client and ensure consistent service. If we can fill the spot you will not be charge for the cancellation.  Please review the following policies in place for both client and therapist.

If a cancellation occurs with less than 48 hours’ notice, this is considered a late cancellation and I will charge half of the appointment fee. This payment is due on the same day of the scheduled appointment. This must be rectified in order to schedule future appointments.

If the session is not cancelled but you do not show, this is considered a missed appointment and I will charge the half of the session fee in this case, as well. This payment is due on the same day of the scheduled appointment. This must be rectified in order to schedule future appointments.

We encourage you to connect with your insurance provider, as late cancellations and missed appointments may not be covered as part of your plan.

Our providers will also abide by this policy in such cases as double-booking, making alternate plans, or forgetting about an appointment. However, I can appreciate that emergencies do arise and do not always allow for 48-hour notice. In the case of a medical emergency, I will waive the above policy and not expect payment for a missed appointment.

Please speak with your provider to set-up email and text reminders. We appreciate technology, though this is simply a courtesy as technology has its flaws; therefore, clients are still expected to keep track and manage their own appointments.

Our providers will also agree to keep consistent with this policy. Respectfully, they will provide at least fourty-eight (48) hours notice should they need to cancel or reschedule. Should an emergency arise they will do their absolute best to  notify the client(s) as soon as possible.
